We are excited to offer Level I Catechesis of the Good Shepherd to any child aged 3-6 years old. Our atrium is a special place where children enjoy working in a hands-on learning environment appropriate to their age. The atrium is a place where a child's formation is shaped in a variety of distinct areas which introduce them to scripture, prayer, practical living skills, the Mass and particularly the Eucharist.
For students in grades 2nd-7th, we have Reconciliation/First Communion sacramental preparation for 2nd grade and our 3rd-7th grade students also enjoy family catechesis with their parents (grandparents or guardian). Parents spend time with their child in class and learn alongside them!
8th grade is the first year of their preparation for Confirmation. Our 8th grade school and Sunday Religious Education students and sponsors come together once a month. Confirmation takes place in 9th grade.
Our children have discovered a family in St. Mary's Religious Education. Our catechists are dedicated to passing on the faith in truth, while modeling what it means to be an adult, practicing Catholic. We are a warm and welcoming group and you will notice it as soon as you walk in the door!
Our Sunday sessions run 10:15-11:45 a.m. and they are definitely a busy time! You may find our calendar online (as well as registration information) at our parish website stmarymountmorris.org under the Religious Education/Initiation tab.
If you would like to join our family, please contact the religious education office at 810-686-3920, Ext. 112
